This is one of the best trolls ever. Ostensibly, it's a satirical conspiracy performance piece. Complete with #poultrygate email leaks and "historical footage". Essentially, the conspiracy is that the government killed all living birds and replaced them with avian surveillance drones.
I didn't look deeply enough to see if an actual group of believers in this conspiracy exists, but I really hope there is and I wouldn't be very surprised. I mean, there are "flat earthers" who sincerely believe in that conspiracy.
It's pretty clear that the motivations of this new "conspiracy" is to market and sell #birdsarentreal merchandise. I'm sold. As soon as the "Birds Aren't Real" face mask is back in stock, I'm definitely getting one. I can't think of a better way of conveying my opinions of face masks.
